El Chocolate

Bate = Stir Molinillo

Chocolate comes from a tree called the Cacao Tree Para tu informacíon – For your information Chocolate comes from a tree called the Cacao Tree The first people to find out how delicious chocolate was were the Maya and the Aztec people of what is now Mexico. They ground up the seeds of the cacao tree, mixed it with spices, and made it into a drink. When the Spanish saw and tasted the chocolate drink, they loved it too, and chocolate quickly spread to Europe as well as Latin America.

It is the seeds of the fruit (the fruit is also known as "pods") that are used in making chocolate. The typical pod contains a few dozen seeds, also known as beans. Cocoa solids and cocoa butter are the two main components from the beans that go into making the chocolate we enjoy today. It takes several hundred processed beans to make up 1 pound of chocolate.
