El metro de Estocolmo está considerado como "la galería de arte más larga del mundo". Cuenta con 3 líneas principales ( La azul, la roja y la verde) un recorrido de casi 110 km de largo y 100 estaciones de las cuales 47 son subterráneas y 53 de superficie. The Stockholm subway is considered ”the longest art gallery in the world”. It has 3 main lines (the blue, red and green) a tour of nearly 110 km long and 100 stations of which 47 are underground and 53 surface.

Todas las estaciones cuentan con una decoración y una ambientación excepcional. Se han utilizado en varias estaciones el lecho de roca natural del túnel como materia prima y se la utilizado como parte de la decoración de variadas formas y creativas expresiones de arte. Desde frescos hasta esculpidos en la piedra, estatuas, metales, incrustaciones de diferentes materiales y variadísimas pinturas de colores vivos y brillantes. All stations have a unique decor and ambiance. The natural bedrock has been used at several stations, as the raw material and is used as part of the decoration of various shapes and creative expressions of art. From fresh to carved stone statues, metals, inlays of different materials and multifarious paintings, bright colors.

En la estación Rissne, un fresco informativo sobre las paredes cuenta la historia de las civilizaciones de la Tierra a lo largo del andén. Las pinturas fueron creadas con el mensaje de bienvenido al mundo, donde la artista sueca Helga Henschen quiso llenar la cueva plasmando la historia de la vida con aves, animales, flores, el hombre y la mujer. In Rissne station, a fresh information on the walls tells the story of Earth's civilizations along the platform. The paintings were created with the message of welcome to the world, where Swedish artist Helga Henschen would fill the cave with the story of life with birds, animals, flowers, men and women.

In the many stations you can find works by nearly 150 artists. La primera línea del metro de Estocolmo se abre en 1950, a partir de entonces, todas las estaciones incorporaron arte, eso sí, siempre intentando que las obras se integrasen en el entorno. En el centenar de estaciones se pueden encontrar obras de casi 150 artistas.
