Repaso de los mandatos Positive tú commands, REGULAR: Take the tú form, DROP the S* *This is the same as the él/ella/usted form. Nadas becomes: ¡Nada! Bebes becomes: ¡Bebe! Escribes becomes: ¡Escribe!

These must be MEMORIZED. Irregular tú commands These must be MEMORIZED. BUT, many are verbs you’ve already learned that have an irregular YO form.

Negative tú commands To form negative tú commands there are four simple steps: 1. Take the yo 2. Drop the o 3. Add the opposite ending 4. Add No in front and “S” at the end

What is an opposite ending? For an –ar verb the opposite ending is… E Habla►hable►no hables For –er & -ir verbs the opposite ending is… A Come►coma►no comas Escribe►escriba►no escribas

-car, -gar Negative tú commands in –car verbs: The yo form has –co To maintain the hard c sound you need to change the c to qu No practiques The same is true for negative tú commands in –gar verbs: The yo form has –go To maintain the hard g sound you need to add a u No juegues

For the irregulars The irregulars follow the same rules: Take the YO: Tengo Drop the O: Teng Add the opposite ending: Tenga Add S and No in Front: ¡No tengas!
