¿Cómo está usted? (How are you?) ¿Cómo estas? ¿Cómo se llama usted? (What's your name?) ¿Cómo te llamas? ¿De dónde es usted? (Where are you from?) ¿De dónde eres? ¿Y usted? (And you?) ¿Y tú?

Tú is used when you are speaking to someone your own age, a peer, someone younger than you, or a friend. Usted is used when you are talking to someone from a different social status, your boss, your teacher, a policeman, your doctor, someone you don't know, or someone in a position of authority.
