Using TENER Use the forms of TENER to discuss things people HAVE, such as… Family Members & Pets Yo tengo dos hermanos. Classes Él tiene la clase de inglés. Clothing Mi amiga tiene mucha ropa. Physical characteristics (eyes, hair) Mis padres tienen los ojos verdes. Also, ALWAYS use forms of TENER to discuss people’s AGE: Tengo quince años. = I am 15 years old. Tiene veinte años. = He is 20 years old. ¿Cuántos años tienes? = How old are you?

TENER = to have  Yo tengo quince años.  Tú tienes un hermano y una hermana, ¿no?  Él tiene muchos primos. Ella tiene un sobrino.
