Infinitive / Conjugation An infinitive is a verb form with the word "to" in front of it. To run, to jump, to eat, and to fly are examples of infinitives. Conjugating a verb is putting an infinitive into different forms with the subjects being used. For example we will use the infinitive "to run". We could conjugate the verb by saying I run, you run, he runs, she runs, we run, or they run.
