2 La Visión de Eliseo 2 Reyes 6:8-17
8 Tenía el rey de Siria guerra contra Israel, y consultando con sus siervos, dijo: En tal y tal lugar estará mi campamento. 9 Y el varón de Dios envió a decir al rey de Israel: Mira que no pases por tal lugar, porque los sirios van allí. 10 Entonces el rey de Israel envió a aquel lugar que el varón de Dios había dicho; y así lo hizo una y otra vez con el fin de cuidarse. 11 Y el corazón del rey de Siria se turbó por esto; y llamando a sus siervos, les dijo: ¿No me declararéis vosotros quién de los nuestros es del rey de Israel? 12 Entonces uno de los siervos dijo: No, rey señor mío, sino que el profeta Eliseo está en Israel, el cual declara al rey de Israel las palabras que tú hablas en tu cámara más secreta. 3 13 Y él dijo: Id, y mirad dónde está, para que yo envíe a prenderlo
13 Y él dijo: Id, y mirad dónde está, para que yo envíe a prenderlo. Y le fue dicho: He aquí que él está en Dotán. 14 Entonces envió el rey allá gente de a caballo, y carros, y un gran ejército, los cuales vinieron de noche, y sitiaron la ciudad. 15 Y se levantó de mañana y salió el que servía al varón de Dios, y he aquí el ejército que tenía sitiada la ciudad, con gente de a caballo y carros. Entonces su criado le dijo: ¡Ah, señor mío! ¿qué haremos? 16 El le dijo: No tengas miedo, porque más son los que están con nosotros que los que están con ellos. 17 Y oró Eliseo, y dijo: Te ruego, oh Jehová, que abras sus ojos para que vea. Entonces Jehová abrió los ojos del criado, y miró; y he aquí que el monte estaba lleno de gente de a caballo, y de carros de fuego alrededor de Eliseo. READ

4 ¿Por qué tenía miedo el siervo de Eliseo?
Había un gran ejército que venía por ellos (v.14) Estaban rodeados (v.15) Why was Elisha’s servant afraid? A strong force came against them. We need to ask ourselves, “What strong force is coming against us?” They were surrounded. This is also often true for us. We can also feel surrounded by negative circumstances. What are you afraid of? What fears do you have just like this servant?

5 El Mandamiento más repetido en la Biblia
¡No tengas miedo! No temas ¡ Se repite 366 veces en la Biblia! It is given 366 times. One for every day of the year - Leap Year. We find it in vs.16. “Don’t be afraid!” Why is this the most common command? Can it be that God knows us so well? God knows that our fear disrupts faith and becomes the biggest obstacle to trusting and obeying God.

6 ¿Qué es el miedo? Huir Escondernos O Pelear.
Es una advertencia interna de que el peligro está cerca. Nos prepara para: Huir Escondernos O Pelear. What is fear? Fear is an internal warning cry that danger is nearby. It is unpleasant enough to movtivate us to action and remove ourselves from the threat. Fear readies us to: flee, flight or hide. There is a body system that detects danger and goes into action within 1/10th of a second before conscious decision-making can kick in. There is good fear. And there is bad fear.

7 Hay un miedo que es bueno.
¡No Tocar, Caliente! Good fear is the type the keeps us from touching a hot stove.

8 Hay un Miedo que nos paraliza
“El miedo es el camino al lado oscuro.” Yoda, de la guerra de las galaxias CLICK – “Fear is the path to the dark side.” Yoda And there is bad fear that paralyzes you. Fear can become habitual (a habit) and we become worriers, which is a special form of fear. Fear is caused by an external source and worry by an internal source.

9 ¿Cuál es el alto costo de vivir con miedo?
1.-La pérdida de la autoestima. 2.-La pérdida de destino. No dejes que el miedo te aleje de ser lo que Dios quiere que seas. 3.-Pérdida de gozo. Gozo y miedo son incompatibles. 4.-Pérdida de intimidad auténtica. Tener miedo y esconderse van de la mano. El primer registro de miedo que tenemos es el de Adán. 5.- Pérdida de disponibilidad a Dios. El miedo dice que Dios no es lo suficientemente grande para cuidarnos. Loss of Self-esteem. When we fear, if we will face our fear, our confidence and trust will increase. But if we avoid our fear, we lose self-esteem. [Give a personal example for at least on of the 5.] Loss of Destiny. When we live in fear, we don’t experience the potential God has placed in you. We must remember that growth involves risk. Don’t let fear keep you from being who God created you to be. Loss of Joy. When we live in fear, we live in anxiety. We give fear the power to rob us of life now. Joy and fear are incompatible. Loss of Authentic Intimacy. Fear and hiding go to together. The first recorded instance of fear was Adam in the Garden of Eden. God asks, “Where were you?” Adam replies, “I heard you in the garden and I was afraid and so I hid.” Just like Adam, we hide. We hide what we truly feel and believe but are afraid to say. Loss of Availability to God. Fear says that God is not big enough to take care of us. You don’t want fear to bring you to the point where you say, “What if I had trusted God?”

10 ¿Qué hacer cuando estamos temerosos?
Ora – Y oró Eliseo, y dijo: Te ruego, oh Jehová, que abras sus ojos para que vea. (v.17) Enfocate – Entonces Jehová abrió los ojos del criado, y miró; y he aquí que el monte estaba lleno de gente de a caballo, y de carros de fuego alrededor de Eliseo. (v.18) 2 Kings 6:17 says to pray. Elisha prayed to God to open the eyes of the servant so he could see. WE NEED TO PRAY AND ASK GOD TO OPEN OUR EYES SO WE CAN SEE. Verse 16 says we need to realize that those who are with us are more than those that are with them. FOCUS becomes what we are thinking about. Psalm 68:17 becomes a reality to the servant – “The chariots of God are tens of thousands and thousands of thousands!” CLICK to picture of young/old woman to show how FOCUS can change to whole picture.

11 Reflexión 1.-¿Te sientes como si un gran ejército enemigo, está en contra de tu vida ahora mismo? 2.- ¿Qué circunstancias están causando que te sientas derrotado? 3.- ¿Cuáles han sido las pérdidas que has experimentado por vivir con miedo en vez de vivir por fe? 4.- ¿Cuál es el siguiente paso que debes tomar para tener tu mente fija en Jesús? As we close, let’s pray that God will open our eyes to see the invisible and to keep us focused on HIM!
