1 SpringerLink The new SpringerLink interface has been designed based on the results of one of the largest usability studies. Features have been added and revisions done to best match the requests of users world wide. IP authentication and username/password will work on the beta. For best results, use Google Chrome, Firefox, or IE8 browsers.

6 Buscando en SpringerLink
 While the color and design of the site is the first thing a researcher might notice, small changes—like placement of the Quick Search box in the same location on every page—make the site easier to use.  Caja de búsqueda rápida se encuentra ahora en la misma ubicación en cada página. Los usuarios ya no tienen que ir a buscarla!

7 Busquedas por colecciones tematicas.
  Clicking on the orange arrow next to the subject collections now expands them to show the sub-fields. This was not possible in the old site and allows the user to browse easily for their specific field of interest. Clicking on the subject collection name takes you directly to that subject collection. Institutional branding now appears in the top right corner of every page, except on the actual article/chapter page. Here branding can also be included for societies.  Las Colecciones se expanden para mostrar el detalle de los sub-campos.  Ahora aparece la marca institucional en cada hoja.

12 Búsqueda avanzada      
The advance search box drops down from any page. This has been made much more visible than what it was in the old site. We have also added the option to “Search by Citation”. This is a new feature to SpringerLink which allows researchers who already know the article or chapter that they want to input the information directly. Researchers can now choose how they would like results to be ordered.  El cuadro de la búsqueda avanzada se despliega desde cualquier página. La búsqueda avanzada ahora incluye la opción de “Búsqueda por Cita” que le permite buscar un artículo o capítulo específico. Los investigadores ahora podrán escoger cómo quieren ordenar los resultados de la búsqueda.  

This has been made clearer and more visible than on the previous platform.

  Filter by Open Access, this was not possible before. Journal History Notes (including title changes, title merges, title splits) are now very visible!  Puede filtrar los artículos para mostrar sólo artículos de OpenAccess. Las notas de la historia de cada revista señalan todos los cambios, fusiones o divisiones de títulos. 

  La nueva SpringerLink les muestra a los investigadores los documentos más relacionados con su búsqueda. 1. 80% of SpringerLink users begin their experience on an abstract page. From the abstract page, a researcher can see which documents are most closely related to the article. This is done through semantic linking. Results are not limited to journal articles, but rather open to all content on SpringerLink. Springer worked with a company called Temis to index all content on the site. For each document, a “digital fingerprint” is created. As new documents are uploaded, their digital fingerprint is compared to all items already on the site. The top ten are displayed.

19 Pasar el mouse sobre documentos relacionados
 1. “Mousing” over a related document causes a mini-abstract page to pop-up. Researchers do not need to navigate away from their article to find out more information. Related documents can be downloaded directly from this mini-abstract page!  Al pasar el mouse sobre un Documento Relacionado aparece una página con un mini-abstracto que los investigadores podrán revisar, ¡sin salir del artículo original!

20 Exportación de citas  
1. The Export Citation tool is easily visible and supports the most popular citation programs.  La herramienta de Exportación de Citas está claramente visible y es compatible con los programas de citas más populares que existen en la Internet.

21 Referencias y “Citado por”
  1. Article references are easily viewed from the abstract page 2. Links to articles which cite the article being viewed can be found under the “Cited By” button. This feature is much more visible on the new SpringerLink. With this functionality, researchers can link to any publication which submits article DOIs to CrossRef.  Podrá ver fácilmente las referencias de los artículos desde la página de abstractos Encontrará los vínculos a los artículos que citan el artículo con el botón “Cited By”. 

22 eBooks o libros electrónicos
 La función “Look Inside” vuelve a unir los PDF por capítulo, ¡lo cual devuelve la sensación de lectura de un “libro” a los libros electrónicos! ¡No hace falta ningún programa especial! ¡La base de datos contiene todos los controles! ¡Incluso quienes no tienen una suscripción pueden ver una parte del capítulo (y todas las hojas preliminares)!  Now let’s talk about eBooks. “Look Inside” makes it possible to preview all chapters of an eBook without the need to open a PDF. Even non-subscribers see all frontmatter and a small portion of content for each chapter. No special software is required, so there is nothing for an enduser to download or update. All controls are contained within the site! “Look Inside” puts chapter-level PDFs back together putting the book experience back into eBooks.

Always know where you are in the eBook. The bar at the top of the content area always shows the chapter title. 27 Decarga desde la ventana de mini-abstractos
 1. You can easily review the abstract of the various related documents. This is done by “mousing” over the article or chapter you are interested in. From this mini-abstract screen, you can download the PDF of related document or move back to “Look Inside” view.  Es muy fácil revisar el resumen de varios documentos relacionados al pasar el mouse sobre el artículo o el capítulo que le interesa ver. Desde esta pantalla de mini-resumenes, se puede descargar el PDF.
