5 Judo as a Sport Judo como Deporte
El deporte lo podemos definir como un juego donde se involucra la actividad física, donde necesariamente las acciones deben ser producidas por el individuo que participa. El deporte debe seguir reglas lo cual implica el uso o aplicación de sanciones. The sport can be define as a game where physical activity is involved, where the actions needs to be produced by the individual that participates. The sport should follow rules which implies the use or application of sanctions.

6 Judo como Deporte Judo as a Sport Es el juego competitivo, donde el individuo se prepara metodológica y sistemáticamente para poder participar en la competición. El juego forma parte del deporte. Is a competitive game, where the individual gets ready methodologically and systematically to be able to participate in competition. The game is part of the sport.

7 Al hablar de deportes es necesario hablar de arbitraje.
Judo como Deporte Judo as a Sport When speaking of sports it is necessary to speak of refereeing. The referee has the difficult mission of: Apply the rules to impart justice. To evaluate the situations, based on the rules, and to make the decisions that favor the technical and philosophical principles of judo. Al hablar de deportes es necesario hablar de arbitraje. El árbitro tiene la difícil misión de: Aplicar las reglas para impartir justicia. Evaluar las situaciones, para luego basado en las reglas, tomar las decisiones que favorezcan los principios técnicos y filosóficos del judo.

En la mayoría de los combates para poder evaluar las situaciones, el árbitro debe invocar sus conocimientos de judokas, de allí se desprende que el árbitro debe estar al día con los aspectos técnicos competitivos del judo. In the majority of the matches in order to be able to evaluate situations, the referees should invoke his knowledge from when he was a judo players. 11 El Reglamento The Rules
Las reglas son un conjunto de procedimientos adaptados a las características técnicas y competitivas de un deporte. En el judo las reglas tienen un sentido muchos mas amplio, ya que además de establecer regulaciones competitivas, le dan al árbitro una serie de elementos de juicio que le permiten poder evaluar las acciones que se producen en un combate de judo. The rules are a group of procedures adapted to the technical and competitive characteristics of a sport. In judo the rules have a meaning more ample, because besides establishing competitive regulatory elements, gives the referee a series of judgments that permits evaluate the actions produced during a judo match.

Además las reglas tienen como objetivo poder establecer criterios uniformes para la evaluación de las acciones. The rules have as objective to be able to establish uniforms criterias for the evaluation of the actions.

Sin embargo en muchos casos la aplicación de las reglas está en la interpretación particular (muchas veces subjetiva) del árbitro y de sus conocimientos. En general también depende de sus estados de animo y la atención que este logre poner en cada una de sus actuaciones. Los atletas se preparan durante mucho tiempo para asistir a los torneos. Los que somos judokas sabemos lo difícil y agotador, que es la preparación de un atleta para un torneo, donde no solo se involucra el desgaste físico, también hay desgaste psicológico, y por supuesto una gran inversión económica. The athletes trained and get prepared for a long time to attend the tournaments. 36 Juego Limpio Fair Play The fair play is a philosophy that goes nor only with the competition but also with the training. El juego limpio es una filosofía, que tiene que ver no solo con la competencia sino también con el entrenamiento.

37 Juego Limpio Fair Play El Juego limpio se basa en el principio de que el deporte es una búsqueda moral que enfatiza lo siguiente: Respeto a las Reglas. Respeto a los árbitros y aceptación de sus decisiones. Respeto al adversario. Dar a todos los participantes igualdad de oportunidades. Mantener la dignidad bajo toda circunstancia. The fair play is based on the principle that the sport is a moral search that emphasizes the following points: Respect to the Rules. Respect to the referees and acceptance of their decisions. Respect to the opponent. To give to all the participant equality of opportunities. To maintain the dignity under all circumstance.

General aspects of the fair play Enfatizar la búsqueda de la excelencia como una meta importante. Comportarse de la forma como usted quiere que los competidores y espectadores se comporten (Predique con el ejemplo). Fomentar el respeto a los reglamentos, al espíritu y filosofía del judo. To emphasize the search of the excellence like an important goal. To behave in the way as you wants the competitors and spectators to behave (Preach by example). Respect the Rules and the spirit and philosophy of judo.

40 Sentido Común Common Sense
El sentido común dentro del arbitraje del judo tiene un especial significado. Lo podremos definir como la capacidad que tiene el árbitro en aplicar las reglas de arbitraje para el beneficio de los competidores y del juego limpio sin favoritismo, ni mala intención considerando siempre las actitudes de los competidores. The common sense in refereeing judo has a special meaning. We will be able to define as the capacity of a referee in applying the competitions rules for the benefit of the competitors and the fair play without favoritism, bad intentions or persecution, always considering the attitudes of the competitors.

41 Sentido Común Common Sense
La facultad de juzgar y distinguir lo verdadero de lo falso, que es propiamente lo que llamamos buen sentido o sentido común. En efecto, no basta con tener un gran conocimiento; lo principal es aplicarlo bien, el sentido común nos dice que todos los caminos nos llevan a alguna parte. The ability to judge and to distinguish the truth from the false, what we call good sense or common sense. In effect, it is not enough to have great knowledge; the main thing is how to apply it well, the common sense tells us that all the roads take us somewhere.
