1 Present Progressive Tense To describe actions in progress (hence the name), you can use the Present Progressive Tense For example- in English: 1.I am eating. 2.You are studying. 3.Felipe is sleeping.

2 Present Progressive Tense Spanish also can express this. To do so: 1.Use the correct form of the verb ESTAR 2.Use the present participle of the second verb (verbs with –ing) For example: I am doing… (doing is a present participle) Yo estoy haciendo Yo estoy haciendo

3 Present Progressive Tense To form the present participle (-ing), follow these 2 steps: Drop the ending of the infinitive (-ar/-er/-ir) –ando Add –ando to an –ar verb –iendo Add –iendo to an –er/-ir verb

4 Present Progressive Tense Present Participles in español look like this: hablando Hablar hablando comiendo Comercomiendo haciendo Hacerhaciendo escribiendo Escribirescribiendo trabajando Trabajartrabajando jugando Jugarjugando bailando Bailarbailando

5 Present Progressive Tense A few irregular present participles: ir-yendo -ir boot verbs: i E changes to Ipedir- pidiendo u O changes to udormir- durmiendo Verbs that end in –eer, (leer), -aer (traer), have a Y in them yy Leer- leyendotraer- trayendo
