7 FLUJOS DE INVERSION EXTRANJERA DIRECTA EN COLOMBIA
En el 2008 Colombia ocupó el cuarto lugar en Inversiones en América Latina con US$9.028 millones. Minería recibió el 23% (US$2.116 millones.). Para el 2009 se estiman inversiones por encima de los US$2.500 para el sector minero. El 12% del total se invirtió en Minería. Principalmente en proyectos de carbón. Un 5% para exploración en metales preciosos. Se espera para 2008 que las inversiones en exploración sean cercanas a los 155 millones de dólares, especialmente dirigidas a metales preciosos Fuente: Balanza de pagos, Banco de la República

10 Percepción del mercado minero en el contexto mundial
Sent to approximately 3,000 exploration, development, and other mining-related companies around the world Responses from 658 of those companies Companies participating in the survey reported exploration spending of US$3.4 billion in 2008 and US$3.02 billion in 2007. Survey respondents represent 24 percent of total global nonferrous exploration of US$14.4 billion in 2008 and 30 percent of US$9.99 billion in 2007 as reported by the Metals Economics Group) Latin America scores continue to decline. In the 2005/06 survey, the average score was 51.2 compared to 37.3 this year, among only the nations that have been in the survey over the full period. Including all of the Latin American nations that are in the survey this year, that average score declines to 33.4, pulled down by Guatemala’s very low score of 5.1. MANTENER TENDENCIA EN CRECIMIENTO DE PRODUCCION MINERA EN CARBON DESARROLLANDO 17,000 MILLONES DE RESERVAS, PARA SUPERAR PRODUCCION DE 100 MILLONES DE TONELADAS ANUALES. RETOMAR INVERSIONES DE AMPLIACION EN LA PRODUCCION DEL FERRONIQUEL. CONTINUAR AUGE EXPLORATORIO DE OTROS MINERALES. 12
