Pretérito Perfecto ~ Nos referimos a un evento pasado que ha ocurrido en el período de tiempo en el que estamos hablando. ~ We refer to a past event that has occurred in the time frame in which we are speaking. hoy esta semana este mes este año mi vida la historia de la humanidad ~ El hablante determina si el evento ha ocurrido en el período de tiempo en el que estamos hablando. ~ The speaker determines whether the event has occurred within the period of time in which we are speaking. ~ Usamos el pretérito perfecto para hablar de eventos que han ocurrido en un período de tiempo que todavía no ha acabado, y que aun continúa mientras hablamos. ~ We use the perfect tense to talk about events that have occurred within a period of time that has not finished yet, and that still continues as we speak. - Esta semana he estudiado para el examen.

Pretérito Indefinido (Simple Past) ~En el pretérito indefinido, el hablante determina que el evento ocurrió en un momento diferente del momento en el que estamos hablando. ~In the simple past, the speaker determines that the event happened at a different moment from the moment in which we are speaking. ~ El momento en el que el evento sucedió ya no está aquí. El momento en el que el evento sucedió, acabó. ~ The moment in which the event happened is not here any longer. The moment in which the event happened, finished.

~ ¿Recuerdas los marcadores temporales que utilizamos en el pretérito indefinido? ~ Do you remember the time expressions that we use in the simple past? ayer anoche la semana pasada anteayer en 1980 Ejemplos: -¿Viste la película anoche? -¿Hablaste con ella la semana pasada? ~ Anoche y la semana pasada son períodos de tiempo que acabaron, por lo tanto, utilizamos el pretérito indefinido. ~ Last night and last week are periods of time that finished. Therefore, we use the simple past.
