Repaso del imperfecto ● The imperfect tense in Spanish is used to discuss actions in the past that: ● Occurred repeatedly ● I went to school every day ● or occurred over an extended period of time ● I used to dance often ● The imperfect can also be used to talk about: ● Feelings or conditions ● My sister was sad ● or setting the stage for another past event. It’s also always used to tell time, weather, and age! ● I was walking to school when I saw my friend ** The imperfect tense implies that the past action did not have a definite beginning or end**

Una historia en el imperfecto ● Remember how last class I told you a short story about my childhood using –ar verbs in the imperfect? Today, I’m going to tell you a longer story using –ar, -er, and –ir verbs. Listen carefully to see how much you can understand! The story is called “el estudiante perfecto” ● You do not need to take notes during the story, just listen! There will be pictures on the screen to help you understand.

Práctica independiente ¡Es Beyoncé! At your desks, write a paragraph (at least 10 sentences) about what Beyonce was like as a little girl. Make sure you include this information: - Where did she used to live (vivir)? - What did she like (gustar)? - Where did she work (trabajar)? - To where did they always go on vacation (viajar)? - With whom did she talk every day/week (hablar)? - What did she eat (comer)? - What did they want (querer)? If you don’t know any of the above information for sure, you can make it up! You may use your notes and a Spanish-English dictionary. NO ONLINE TRANSLATORS! When you are finished, raise your hand to receive a classwork stamp. Then, play on Duolingo.
