5 The Idea Idea Let your child pick a project from something he/she enjoys. If your child likes what he’s studying then a much better project will be produced. Permita que su niño/niña escoja un proyecto de algo que le guste. Si a su niño/niña le gusta lo que está estudiando producirá un mejor proyecto.

6 The Question Pregunta Now, your child needs to come up with a question about the IDEA. Ahora su niño/niña tiene que formular una pregunta sobre su idea.

7 HYPOTHESIS Hipótesis This is your child’s PREDICTION about what will happen in the experiment. A hypothesis cannot be right or wrong. It will be the foundation of the project and the direction the project will go. Esto es la predicción de su niño/niña sobre lo que sucederá en el experimento. Una hipótesis no está correcta o incorrecta. Es la base hacia donde se dirige el proyecto.

8 Materials/Procedure Materiales/Procedimiento These go hand in hand. This is very easy to do if you do them simultaneously. You will separate these when they are put on the board. Van mano a mano. 10 SAFETY/SEGURIDAD Make sure you check the experiment for any safety precautions that should be followed. Ask yourself, “What special precautions do we need to take in following the procedure to do this experiment?” For example, if a sharp utensil must be used, make sure the adult uses the utensil or if the eyes need to be protected, then the child should wear goggles. Asegurate de revisar el experimento por cualquier precaución de seguridad a seguir. Preguntate “¿que precauciones debemos tomar para seguir éste experimento? Por ejemplo si se requiere usar un utensilio filoso asegurate de que un adulto sea el que lo use o utiliza lentes protectores si debes protegerte los ojos.

11 SAFETY SEGURIDAD Include the precautions in the procedure. Incluye las precauciones a tomar en el procedimento.

12 DATA TABLE TABLA DE DATOS The child needs to record anything that happens while performing the experiment. Design a chart that will be used to create a graph. El niño/niña debe anotar cualquier cosa que suceda durante el experimento. Construye una tabla que se utilizará para crear una gráfica.

13 DATA COLLECTION RECOPILACION DE DATOS Take photos of the child doing the experiment and collecting the data. These photos will be placed on the board. Tome fotos de su niño/niña haciendo el experimento y recupilando datos. Estas fotos serán colocadas en la cartulina.

15 RESULTS RESULTADOS After collecting the data, the child should look at the information to see what can be learned from the data. The graph is usually the best place to analyze the data. Despues de recopilar los datos el niño/niña debe analizarlos para ver que se puede aprender de los datos. La gráfica es usualmente el mejor lugar para analizar los datos.

16 CONCLUSION Was my hypothesis proven? disproven? or do I need to do more research and testing? Can I expand on this experiment and make this project better. How could I do that? Report any problems that may have arisen that you did not expect. ¿Se confirmo o aniquilo mi hipótesis o necesito investigar y hacer más pruebas? Puedo desarrollar éste experimento para mejorar éste proyecto. ¿Cómo lo puedo mejorar? Reporta cualquier problema inesperado.
