1 Writing A Lab Report

2 1. Purpose The purpose section is where you tell your reader the reason for conducting this experiment. This section should be three or four sentences long. If it’s too short, it won’t be clear why you’re doing the lab. La sección propósito es donde usted dice a su lector la razón para llevar a cabo este experimento. 3 Airplane Lab - Purpose The distance of a paper airplane can be changed based on the style or design. By changing thickness, length, or sleekness, one can increase the length of flight distance. This experiment will prove which design or style provides maximum flight distance.

4 2. Hypothesis Hypothesis- If _________________________, then ____________________________. The hypothesis is a single sentence that discusses how you will solve the problem. The statement after “if” is the independent variable. The statement after “then” is the dependent variable. You may also write your hypothesis as a statement:

6 2. Hypothesis If-Then-Because:
“If I create the dart plane, then it will fly the farthest because of its sleek and dense design” Statement: “Making the dart airplane design will increase distance of flight because of its sleek and compacted design”

7 3. Materials Your material section is very complete list of everything you used in your experiment. You need to indicate how much of each material will be used in the experiment so you know what you will need. Su sección de material es muy lista completa de todo lo que utilizó en su experimento. 9 4. Procedure This is a very clear, step-by-step list of things you plan on doing during the experiment. You should be very detailed so your experiment could be replicated by other scientists. 12 6. Analysis This is where you explain the meaning of your results. If you have a graph it will be displayed here. a sentence stating whether your hypothesis was disproven or not, if the hypothesis was disproven, what you think went wrong, and a brief error analysis section. If the hypothesis was proven, what data helped to prove it Restatement of data collected Explanation of data analysis What information led to the proving/disproval of your hypothesis

14 Conclusion Su conclusión se necesita lo siguiente:
una sentencia que indique si su hipótesis fue refutada o no, si la hipótesis fue refutada, ¿qué crees que salió mal, y una breve sección de análisis de errores.
