Key Points Learning objectives (Revisit) Consistently articulate various reasons why community mobilization matters. (Continue) Develop a plan for mobilizing the community, drawing on the participatory approaches and tools that you have already learned. (Continue) Plan for the use of ‘key influences’ and trusted sources in your program. Key influencers are individuals or groups that hold major sway with the public. They are people we hold in high esteem, people we trust, and in many cases people we desire to emulate. So who are these people who have power, trust, and influence over us? The answer to that question differs according to where in the world the question is asked. This session discusses some of the research about trusted and influential sources of information. You need to know which individuals and institutions are respected and trusted by members of your target audience at your site so that you can involve them in getting out the word of your campaign.
