INSTRUCTIONS In this exercise you will be presented with 10 simple situations. Imagine yourself in each situation and say exactly what you would say in each case. The situations are presented in Spanish and you need to respond IN SPANISH as well. You will have 25 seconds to read and to respond to each situation. [In this situation, you imagine that you are sick and call your friend from the university to ask him to lend you his notes.] Tú dices/You say: In English you could say, for example: “Hey, I had to miss class today because I’m not feeling very well. Can I borrow your notes some time?”

12 SITUACIÓN 3 Estás en una tienda porque necesitas comprar unas cosas. Hay mucha gente en la tienda hoy. Haces las compras y quieres salir rápido. Cuando sales, la puerta le pega [hits] a la mujer que va detrás de ti. Tú dices: .

14 SITUACIÓN 4 La semana pasada, le prestaste [lent] tu libro favorito a una amiga. Hoy ella te lo trae y dice que le gustó mucho, pero tú notas que la tapa [cover] del libro está en una mala condición.  Tú dices:

16 SITUACIÓN 5 Tu amigo necesita devolver [return] unos libros a la biblioteca. Tú quieres ayudar y dices que vas a devolverlos por él, pero se te olvida [forget]. Hoy tu amigo recibe una notificación de que debe pagar por la demora [late fee]. Tú dices:

Discúlpeme, tenía mucha prisa y se me olvidó su libro. Puedo traérselo mañana?
