14 de abril de 2016 Bienvenidos a la clase de Español 1 ¿Qué vas a hacer por la tarde hoy? Randomly ask the students questions in Spanish about the day, date, weather, time, their classes and teachers, their likes/dislikes, etc. Be sure to use the questions on the slide – they are new ones we have been working on and they are on their next quiz!  Spend 5-10 minutes. If you don’t speak Spanish, have the students ask some of the questions. ¿Cómo están ustedes? ¿Adónde fuiste ayer después de las clases?

2 La campana Escribe en español:
Hoy es _______ el ____ de abril. La campana Escribe en español: I want to buy two wooden rulers and some colored paper. Do you know if there is a green marker in your desk? My friend has a classmate in his locker! She was able to buy a table and four chairs because she was working! Give them 5 minutes to write these sentences in Spanish. Walk around and guide them as needed. Then have volunteers write their answers on the board and go over any corrections that may be needed. Participation #1 – have them draw un pupitre. Manda #5 para papel colorido y la caja de arte. Escribe tu canción en el papel con marcadores, añade dibujos, incluye tu nombre español. El video de la canción You can play the song by clicking on the photo. They should have their new version of the song written in their notebooks. If they are not completely finished with it, give them about 7 minutes to complete it then, they can use the colored paper to write their song on – use the half sheets. They can use the art supplies that I have in the room to create this. It needs to be done very neatly. This activity is worth 20 notebook points La participación #2

6 ¡Un cuento Nuevo! Capitulo 3 – Lección 2

She saw (did not see) We worked on a new story last time in class. Today they are going to re-write the story as a comic strip, but in the present tense. If they would like extra credit, they could include the “flashbacks”. There are copies of the original story for them to refer to but it is just a classroom set. They should write the story and draw the scenes in their diario section. Keep your eye on the time, you need 5 minutes for the class wrap-up on the next slide. 7 Al fin de la clase… Mindfulness moment – sit quietly, close your eyes, and ponder how you feel about what you have learned today. Let the music calmly flow through your thoughts until you find the calm assurance that you will be able to remember the Spanish vocabulary with time and practice. Now complete any of the Aprendí (I learned) boxes that were still blank. Use Pandora or YouTube to find some peaceful instrumental music. Make sure you leave 5 minutes for this wrap-up.
