2 En contexto… Si yo viviera en España, siempre hablaría español y nunca usaría inglés. Si trabajaras en un hospital, ayudarías a los doctores y enfermeros. Si mi familia tuviera una casa de playa, iría a la playa por todo el verano.

3 El uso… If I had… (Si tuviera…) If I were… (Si fuera…)
If I were able… (Si pudiera…) These are called hypothetical situations / si clauses We have been using them as phrases with the conditional

4 La Formación: 3 pasos PASO 1: put the verb in the ellos/ellas form in the preterite Ex: Hablar : hablaron Escribir : escribieron Comer: comieron

5 Paso 2 Drop “ron” from the verb ¡Adiós RON! RON IS GONE! 
Ex: hablaron  habla-

6 Paso 3: APLICAR Las terminaciones
For –ar/ -er/ -ir verbs add: ra ‘ ramos * ras ra ran *(there will be an accent on the vowel {a or e} before the “r” in ramos) Then we cheer RA, RA, RA because RON is GONE!

9 Use with the conditional
With “if” statements, AFTER “IF” Si + imperfect subj ; conditional Si pudiera, iría a España. If I could, I would go to Spain. OJO::: The clauses could be switched Iría a España si pudiera. To determine where to place the 2 tenses in the formula, you have to look for “IF”. “IF” is your anchor. LA FORMULA

10 Práctica 1. If I had money, I would buy a car.
2. If she were famous, she would travel a lot. 3. If we spoke Spanish, we would interview for the job.

11 Si tuviera dinero, compraría un carro.
