2 In Spanish… When we want to tell a friend to do something we use informal (tú) commands… ¡Come! – EAT! ¡Camina!- WALK! ¡Duerme!- SLEEP! What looks familiar about these endings? It has the same conjugation as the 3rd person singular (él/ella)! Think “él” !!!!

3 Affirmative (Positive) Tú Commands
Lets begin with the do’s (affirmative tú commands): To state the do’s of most verbs, use the 3rd person singular (“él”) form OR (Drop the –s ending of tú form!) TÚ STATEMENT TÚ COMMAND (-s) (tú) caminas ¡Camina! Walk! (tú) comes ¡Come! Eat! (tú) duermes ¡Duerme! Sleep!

Attach pronouns to the end of affirmative commands. Recicla la basura mañana. Recíclala mañana. Haz el trabajo. Josefina, ¡hazlo ahora! Martin, ¿me ayudas a estudiar? Martin, ayúdame.

13 Object pron with + tú commands
The irregular affirmative command forms (except for sé) do not take a written accent unless more than one pronoun is added to the end of the verb. ¿La mesa? Sí, ponla por favor. The table? Yes, set it, please. Dime, ¿adónde vas? Tell me, where are you going? ¿Sabes su teléfono? Dímelo, por favor. Do you know his telephone number? Tell it to me, please.

Pronouns is placed IN FRONT of negative commands. No recicles la basura mañana. No la recicles mañana. No hagas el trabajo. Josefina, ¡no lo hagas ahora!
