In order to ask the time in Spanish you need to ask: ¿Qué hora es? What time is it? index

When you tell time in Spanish you will use the verb ser. Note that you use es when it is one’clock and son when it is any other number. It is one o’clockEs la una. It is two o’clockSon las dos. It is three o’clockSon las tres. Use Es when telling time between 1:00-1:59 Use Son for 2:00-12:59 o’clock

Using Menos is obsolete in this region Son las cinco menos once. It is five minutes minus eleven. WE NOW SAY : Faltan cinco para las once.

If the minute is at the 45 minute mark use: Falta un cuarto para las tres.(OR) Faltan quince para las tres. (Or) Son las dos cuarenta y cinco. index y cuarto-a quarter

If the minute hand is past six but before the twelve you can use: Faltan Faltan cinco para las tres. Or Son las dos cincuenta y cinco. index
