31-59 Minutes After the Hour New School – Follow the same format as number 3 Examples: 4:40 – Son las cuatro y cuarenta. 8:55 – Son las ocho y cincuenta y cinco. Old School – Round up to the next hour and then tell how many minutes until that hour by using “ menos” (minus). Examples: 4:40 – Son las cinco menos veinte. 8:55 – Son las nueve menos cinco.
