1 Los pronombres relativos que y quien

 The words que and quien can link two parts of a sentence. When used in this way que (that, which, who, whom) and quien(es) (who, whom): do not have accents. refer back to a noun in the main clause (main part of the sentence). provide a smooth transition from one idea to another, eliminating the repetition of the noun.

Los pronombres relativos que y quien 1.Que is the most frequently used and can refer to people, places, things, or ideas. La agente de viaje que conocimos ayer viajó por todo el mundo hace tres años. The travel agent (that) we met yesterday traveled around the world three years ago. El monumento nacional que quieren visitar está en el centro de la ciudad. The national monument (that) you want to visit is in the center of the city.

Los pronombres relativos que y quien 2.Quié(es) may also be used in a clause set off by commas when it refers to people, but que is normally used instead of quien. El guía, quien/que nos llevó por toda la ciudad, no nos acompaña mañana. The guide, who took us around the city, is not accompanying us tomorrow.

The plane in which we are now flying is one of the largest in the world. a.Use que after the simple prepositions a, con, de, and en when referring to places, things, or abstract ideas– not people. b.To refer to people after the simple prepositions a, con, de, and en you must use quien(es).

El subjuntivo con antecedentes indefinidos o que no existen  You have used the subjunctive to indicate wishes, recommendations, suggestions, and commands. You have also used it to express doubt, uncertainty, disbelief, and denial as well as emotions and opinions.  The subjunctive is also used to express the possibility that a person, place, or thing is uncertain or nonexistent.  When the person, place, or thing is known to exists, the indicative is used. See the examples on the next page… No conocemos a nadie que sepa cifrar los documentos. We don’t know anyone who knows how to encrypt the documents.
