Intent and Purpose of Parental Involvement  Parents assisting in their child’s learning  Parents actively involved in the school  Parents as full partners in their child’s education  Keeping parents informed about what is going on at school with their children  Parents have a right to know what children are learning.

90% Attendance Rule TEC MINIMUM ATTENDANCE FOR CLASS CREDIT  All absences count, whether excused or unexcused, in determining whether the student has attended the requisite number of days to receive class credit or a final grade.  The attendance committee procedure and the district policies under Section apply to determination of class credit for any student whose attendance since enrollment is less than the 90% minimum requirement.

90% Attendance Rule The new ruling requires students to be in attendance for every class. Example: A student is picked up by a legal guardian for a doctor’s appointment before 3:15. The student misses his/her reading, PE and Science classes. The student will be counted absent for these classes and the absence will count towards the 90% rule. Violation of the 90% rule will require the implementation of “The Principal’s Attendance Plan.” (See Parent Handbook on the Crockett Website).
