Use to say but, as in “not this, but that instead” No me gusta este juego sino ese juego. Sino can only follow a negated verb.
sino corrects or negates a piece of information that has come before it. In English, this would be translated as “but, rather” or “rather.”
A common expression with sino is
Me gusta la pizza pero no me gusta el taco. No me gusta la pizza sino el taco. No sólo me gusta la pizza sino también el taco.
