What’s the stem/root of a verb? What’s the ending of a verb? The ending is the last 2 letters of the verb. In Spanish, all verbs end in “ar, er, or ir”. The stem/root of a verb contains ALL of the letters except the ending…….or every letter leading up to the ending. Our new verb “costar” = to cost. Stem = cost Ending = ar

El verbo ZAPATO Every form inside of the shoe stem changes. The “o” changes to “ue”. *Only the nosotros outside of the shoe does not stem change.

costar: to cost We use cuesta for something that is singular. Ejemplo: el libro cuesta cinco dólares. We use cuestan for something that is plural. Ejemplo: los libros cuestan diez dólares.

Add this to your “”poder” notes: We normally use a form of “poder” (puedo, puedes, puede, etc.) + the infinitive of the verb. Ejemplo: ¿Tú puedes montar en bicicleta? = Can you ride a bike? Or are you able to ride a bike? Montar = to ride …get it?
