Objectives To learn some different techniques to help you memorise your ‘Healthy Living’ Written Controlled Assessment. To practise these techniques and decide which ones suit you best.

Take a break After a study session, take a quick nap or if this is not possible, simply do something different. New memories are very ‘vulnerable’ but studies show that sleep helps your new memories stick. After your nap or break, repeat the memory technique for maximum retention.

Memorising Technique 2 Use images to help you remember your Spanish sentences. Assign an image to each sentence or parts of sentences. Eg.

Now it’s your turn to try out the new memorising techniques! Try to memorise the following text using the 3 different techniques, then discuss your results with your group. Which technique is most popular? Why? Find out if anyone in your group uses a different technique to the ones mentioned.

Plenary Which 3 memorising techniques have we looked at today? Which technique do you think will work best for you and why? Which method are you going to use to help you learn your Spanish Controlled Assessment? Are you going to use the same technique for all sentences/paragraphs?
