VERBS BEGIN AS INFINITIVES A verb in it’s original form. What is an infinitive? Infinitives in English begin with the word “to” (ex – to skate or to draw) How do I identify an infinitive? In Spanish the infinitives can be identified by their endings.
THREE TYPES OF INFINITIVES There are three types of infinitives in Spanish: AR infinitives end in AR Can you list any? patinar hablar escuchar estudiar cocinar ayudar AR, ER & IR
ER infinitives end in ER Can you list any? Leer comer deber IR infinitives end in IR Escribir vivir construir Caution: the verb ir (ir a la escuela) is different.
