A CONJUGATION is a GROUP OF VERBS that change in a similar way. Conjugations in Spanish are grouped by the ending of the verb in its plain form called THE INFINITIVE. CONJUGATION VERBS THAT END IN: 1ST -AR 2ND -ER 3RD -IR

2 EXAMPLES OF VERBS FROM EACH CONJUGATION GROUP
1ST CONJUGATION (-AR): pensar, estudiar, buscar, llamar… 2ND CONJUGATION (-ER): tener, querer, conocer.. 3RD CONJUGATION (-IR): recibir, escribir, salir…

3 To CONJUGATE a verb means to change it to express :
The person who is doing the action When the action is done

4 The persons, or subjects who do the actions are grouped as follows:
PERSONAS DEL SINGULAR PERSONAS DEL PLURAL 1st PERSON YO 2nd PERSON TÚ/USTED 3rd PERSON ÉL/ELLA 1st PERSON NOSOTROS 2ND PERSON VOSOTROS/USTEDES 3RD PERSON ELLOS/ELLAS

To conjugate (change) a verb 1. take out the ending of the infinitive form (-ar, -er, ir) 2. add the corresponding endings as follows First conjugation (-AR) Person ending Yo -o Tú -as Él/ella/Ud -a Nosotros -amos Vosotros -áis Ellos/uds. -an Second conjugation (-ER) & Third conjugation (-IR) Person ending Yo -o Tú -es Él/ella/Ud -e Nosotros -emos Vosotros -éis/-ís Ellos/uds. -en *-ís only for –IR verbs
