Regular -ar verbs All verbs in Spanish end in -r. Either -ar, - er, or -ir. The first group (and the largest group) are the -ar verbs. For example: hablar (to speak), estudiar (to study), mirar (to look, to watch), llevar (to wear, to carry), enseñar (to teach).

Regular -ar verbs Step 1: Take the -ar off the end of the verb Step 2: Decide who is doing the action Step 3: Use Step 2 to choose the correct ending (see next slide). Step 4: Attach the ending to the end of the verb.
