1 Present Tense of regular –ar, -er, and –ir verbs

2 To conjugate a verb in Spanish you take off the ending, -ar, -er, -ir you are left with the stem of the verb  cantar– ar = cant (the stem)  comer – er = com (the stem)  Vivir - ir = viv (the stem) Then you add the appropriate ending to match the subject.

3 Forms for regular -AR verbs: Yo -o Tú -as Él, ella, usted -a Nosotros (as) -amos Vosotros (as) -áis Ustedes, ellos, ellas -an

4 Forms for regular –ER and -IR verbs: -ER VERBS -IR VERBS Yo -o -o Tú -es -es Él, ella, usted -e -e Nosotros (as) -emos -imos Vosotros (as) -éis -ís Ustedes, ellos, ellas -en -en
