Lo que saben When you learned weather expressions, you learned the third person singular form of the verb “hacer” in the present, preterit, imperfect, and future. Hace sol hoy. Hizo calor ayer. Hacía viento cuando fui al parque. Hará buen tiempo mañana.

Meanings of “hacer” The verb “hacer” usually means “to make”or “to do.” In weather expressions, “hacer” translates as “to be.” There are many other expressions that use the verb “hacer” that do not translate literally. Our focus now will be on the verb “hacer” when it means “to do.”
