+ How you do it. Hand out pre-made worksheets or have students use blank notebook paper to draw the four square template. Provide students with either new or previously covered vocabulary to place in the center explosion /box. Students can look up definitions through available classroom resources or write in their own definitions. Once students have some kind of definition the rest of the worksheet can be completed individually, in small groups or as a whole class.

Mira de su hoja.(hold worksheet up and show class) En el centro de esta hoja hay una palabra de vocabulario.(Point out vocabulary word to students) También, hay cuatro diferente cuadrados en esta hoja. En cada cuadrado ustedes se necesitan completar una tarea. En el primero cuadrado que dice “Definición” se necesitan escribir una definición por la palabra en el centro. Ustedes pueden usar una diccionario para encontrar la definición.(Point out the first square to students, look up the definition in the dictionary and then type it into the square)

+ Instrucciones por la clase en Español Ahora, en el segundo cuadrado que dice “Escribe una oración con la palabra” se necesitan escribir una oración que usa la palabra de vocabulario en el centro.(Point the square out to students, then type in at least two different example sentences) En la esquina izquierda abajo se necesitan escribir una conexión personal O una sinónimo. Por la conexión personal puedes escribir algo simple que te ayudará recordar la palabra de vocabulario. Una sinónimo es una palabra que es lo mismo o muy similar a la palabra original.(Point out the square and make sure to give students a number of examples of what they could write for a personal connection, and examples of synonyms) Abajo en el último cuadrado que dice “Dibuja una imagine” se necesitan dibujar una imagine o representación de la palabra de vocabulario en el centro.(Either draw up an example on the board or have a pre-drawn imagine in the example square)
