Año Nuevo By: Ally Hendrix

Basic Features of Año Nuevo Most Mexicans celebrate by having a late night dinner with their families. In Mexico City they have a huge street festival that is centered around the Zocalo on New Years Eve. At midnight, everyone makes noise and shouts "¡Feliz Año Nuevo!" as they let off fireworks. They will eat 1 grape each second for the last 12 seconds before Año Nuevo. They eat one for good luck for each month of the oncoming year.

Importance of Año Nuevo They get to start a new beginning or start over. It starts a new year. Año Nuevo is a celebration of life. As you get older, you are more thankful to still be here.
