● conocer is used to say you are acquainted or familiar with a person, place or thing. ● when conocer is in the preterite, it means “to meet someone for the first time” ex. Conoces al presidente de Alemania? Do you know Germany’s president? Saber vs. Conocer cont.

Irregulars Tener -> Tendr- Poder -> Podr- Saber -> Sabr- Hacer -> Har- Decir -> Dir- Poner -> Pondr- Querer -> Querr- Salir -> Saldr- Venir -> Vendr- **Haber -> Habr- **Habrá -> means ‘there will be’. Usually used in an if… then… format.

Ejemplos Mi concierto comienza a las siete de la noche. Mi concierto va a comenzar a las siete de la noche. Mi concierto comenzará a las siete de la noche. My concert begins at 7 in the evening. My concert is going to begin at 7 in the evening. My concert will begin at 7 in the evening.

Matta y el surrealismo El surrealismo fue muy importante en la primera mitad del siglo 20. Matta era un pintor chileno del surrealismo que vivió mayormente en Europa y E.E.U.U. Dalí y Picasso lo influyeron mucho. Surrealism was very important in the first half of the 20th century.
