Verbs of obligation To talk about things someone must do. To talk about things someone must do. Translates to “has to do something.” Translates to “has to do something.” If there is a specific subject, use “tener que.” If there is a specific subject, use “tener que.” If there is no specific subject, use “hay que.” If there is no specific subject, use “hay que.”
