POR QUÉ VS. PORQUE
¿Por qué? = Why? *Note the accent on the letter e. * Also note that it is two separate words.
Examples: Por qué te gustan los perros? Por qué te gusta jugar videojuegos?
Porque= Because *Note that there are no written accents. *Also note that it is one word.
Examples: Me gustan los perros porque son divertidos. Me gusta jugar videojuegos porque es divertido.
Práctica: First, translate these sentences from English to Spanish, using the question phrase “Por qué”: 1) Why do you like the teacher? 2) Why do you like burritos? 3) Why do you like funny movies? 4) Why don’t you like to study?
Práctica: Now, answer each of the questions from the previous slide: 1) ¿Por qué te gusta el maestro? 2) ¿Por qué te gustan los burritos? 3) ¿Por que te gustan las peliculas cómicas? 4) Por que te gusta estudiar?
