2 Possessive Adjectives
There are two type of possessive adjectives: short & long (to be learned this year) Because they are adjectives they must agree in… USUALLY adjectives go _________ the noun they modify. However, place these BEFORE the noun they describe My cousins = mis primos GENDER & NUMBER w/ the NOUN THEY DESCRIBE AFTER Where do adjectives usually go in relation to the noun they modify? (ie; blue eyes, red book, etc.)

Only those two base possessives that end in an “-o” must be made to agree in gender; the others are gender neutral My— Our— Your (fam)— Your guys’— His— Her— Your (form)— Their— Your all’s— Mi(s) Nuestro(a)(s) Tu(s) Vuestro(a)(s) Su(s) Su(s)

4 The Possessive “De” If you want to clarify who possesses a specific object you use the following formula: Article + object + de + person/place/thing This is the equivalent to the “ ‘s ” in English

8 ¡CUIDADO! ALL interrogative words have accents!
Each interrogative word must have the upside down question mark (¿) preceding it

9 Forming a Question Hear the difference?
Questions may take 2 forms in Spanish First, you can create a question by raising your voice at the end of a statement Tengo la clase de español sexta hora. ¿Tengo la clase de español sexta hora? VS. Hear the difference?

10 ¡LA CANCIÓN! (jingle bells tune)
¿Cuándo? When?, ¿cómo? How? ¿Cuánto? is How much? ¿Dónde? Where? ¿Por qué? Why? Porque is because. ¿Cuál? is which? ¿Qué? Is what? ¿Quién? is who or whom? ¿A qué hora? At what time? ¿A dónde? Is where to?

You can also form a question with one of the many interrogative words we just reviewed Begin with the interrogative word ¿De dónde… Add the verb ¿De dónde es… Place the subject at the end of the sentence ¿De dónde es Carlos?

12 Algunos Problemas Translate to Spanish Where are you from?
Who is the art teacher? When does she study? Why do we write stories? Who are they? ¿De dónde eres tú? ¿Quién es el/la profesor, -a de arte? ¿Cuándo estudia ella? ¿Por qué ecribimos cuentos nosotros? ¿Quiénes son ellos?
