Math- We recently started a new unit on place value and measurement. Students are working on identifying the place and value of a 3 digit number and comparing 2 and 3 digit numbers. Also, they are estimating, measuring and comparing the length of objects. They will continue practicing strategies to add and subtract fluently. They will continue practicing strategies to add and subtract fluently. IXL games to help support what we are learning in class are: Place Value M.1-M.10, Mixed Operations L.1, Counting and Number Patterns A.12. Ask your child’s teacher for their login and password if needed for IXL. Theme- Students are finishing writing a narrative about a customer at their bakery. We will soon be wrapping up our economics unit on studying a local business and the goods and services they produce. Our next exciting science unit will compare and contrast how objects and materials respond to magnetic forces. Reading- Please continue to support your child by having them practice reading 20 minutes nightly and signing their Read & Respond log. Help them remember to return their SFA folder, log, and library books! We’re looking forward to seeing your family at conferences! Please contact your child’s teacher to schedule an appointment.
