September 5th-September 8th ELA:  We will read a text titled Aunt Flossie’s Hats. We will begin editing and revising our personal narratives. I can ask and answer questions about a text. Determine the main idea of a text and explain the key details and explain how they support the main idea Reread a story for information Use the text to make inferences Write narratives to develop imagined experiences or events using effective technique, descriptive details, and clear event sequences Write about various topics over an extended period of time Vocabulary: See vocabulary letter sent home with newsletter. Math: Our math skill this week is 3.OA.1/7 Multiplication Strategies Reminders: Our class field trips are Thursday, September 7th. Please wear your tennis shoes. Please join Remind so you can receive important announcements from Ms. Britton and Mrs. Hillerman. Peanut-free snacks need to be sent each day. Your child may also purchase a snack from the school (snacks are 50 cents each). I can statements: I can tell time to the last minute and calculate intervals of time. I can visualize from a passage. I can ask and answer questions about a passage. I can reread for information. I can recognize a pronoun. Test Dates: Math: Independent Skills Assessment on Friday ELA: Spelling test on Friday Be sure to encourage your child to read each night. They should be reading at least 20 minutes. Ask your child about what they are reading and what is happening in their book. They love to share their reading knowledge with you! ELA Homework: Homework sheets are sent home each night Monday-Thursday. Study for spelling test on Friday. Math Homework: Math sheets are sent home each night Monday-Thursday.
