Pablo Picasso Full name is Pablo Diego José Francisco de Paula Juan Nepomuceno María de los Remedios Cipriano de la Santísima Trinidad Clito Picasso Ruíz. Father was a small time painter. Began training as a painter at age 7.

3 major periods Blue period – paints in all blues to express his depression over the death of his friend. Rose period – Either roses or a rose color. Represents a state of mind that has turned from depression to a state of joy. Cubism – art form based on geometrical shapes.
