Biography Se llama Miguel Cabrera. El es de Maracay, Venezuela. Miguel was a baseball player his whole life, but in 1999 he was drafted straight out of high school by the Florida Marlins. Here he played wearing the number 20 for the 2003 and ending his time with the Marlins wearing number 24. After the 2007 season he was traded to the Detroit Tigers as a third basemen. Still wearing his prized number 24 he continued to play and most recently won the first triple crown since 1973. Ending the 2012 season with a.330 batting average he sets his sights on an even better 2013 season.

He was the 2012 Triple Crown winner which means he led the league in homeruns, batting average, and RBI’s. He was awarded the 2012 AL MVP which is awarded to the best all-around player in the American League.

Eventually, as he made it through his minor league career he coaches and scouts noticed him as a threat in the field and at the plate. This skill led him to being drafted for several All Star Games and becoming one of the greatest power hitters in baseball. With his dexterity as a fielder and play- maker he was able to take on the roles of 3rd base, 1st base, and left field. His legacy is one that will stick with the baseball community for eternity.
