‘Jugar’ has regular -ar verb endings but it is in a new category of verb types. This category is called stem-changers. They are called stem-changers becausethe vowel in the stem changes. In this verb the -u changes to -ue. Notice that this change only occurs in four forms, which is why these verbs are also called‘boot verbs’.
