2 Querer-To want/wish/desire  Querer is a stem changing verb  This means that it changes when it is conjugated.  The e changes to ie in the present tense  Querer can be used with both nouns and verbs.

9 Using Querer with nouns  Querer is a verb that can be used directly in front of nouns.  Yo quiero el libro.-I want the book.  Ella quiere la manzana.-She wants the apple.  Nosotros queremos el fin de semana.-We want the weekend.

10 Using Querer with infinitives  Querer can also be used when talking about something that you want to do.  Ellos quieren comer la fruta.-They want to eat the fruit.  Tú quieres escribir.-You want to read.  Yo quiero dormir.-I want to sleep.
