Introduction: The failure to detect potential donors (PD) and the limited commitment of health care personal, are fundamental problems in the process of donation. Organs and Tissue Procurement System (OTPS) has designed a form for monitoring morbidity and mortality of patients admitted with severe brain pathology (SBP) into intensive care units (ICU) to guaranty the early detection of potential donors. Objectives: To analyze the outcomes of patients admitted with SBP to ICU, according to the Glasgow Coma Scale, using the form of morbidity and mortality design.. Introduction & Objectives
Materials & Methods A retrospective, descriptive and observational based analysis of each of the monthly reports of morbidity and mortality of ICU healthcare centers assigned to each transplant coordinator (TC) during the period 2009 to 2010.

Effective donor organ: 41.79%
It requires more commitment of health care personal to ensure a consistent maintenance of potential donors in order to preserve the viability of organs, avoid preventable medical contraindications and escapes from cardiac arrest. It is necessary to design a simple protocol for early detection of potential donors by identifying and monitoring patients with a score of 7 or lower Glasgow Coma Scale on admission to ICU and thus minimize the risk of loss of donors.
