3 Introduction Careers of the Faculty of Medicine are doing methodological changes in the T&L process. –Innovation in curricular structure. –Software technologies and multimedial resources to provide “virtual organs”. Using LO and LD in teaching. –Many people involved in the process. LAMS and Moodle were used to make learning designs. www.gita.cl

4 LO Human Liver Used since 2004 to teach in different curses. Validated and tested. –Participation of students in the development. www.gita.cl

5 LO Human Liver –It was divided in different parts according to each career. www.gita.cl

6 A Methodology to build learning designs Lesson Plan: –Metadata: title, author, roles, learning objectives, requirements, materials, etc. –Core: divided in acts. Steps: –Teacher builds a lesson plan like as narrative text –Using LAMS builds sequences. www.gita.cl

7 A Methodology to build learning designs Three learning design were built: two for Nursing and Obstetrics and one for Medicine. Example: Lesson Plan for Medicine. Lesson Plan for Medicine www.gita.cl

8 Implementation in LAMS The same methodology was used to develop the three learning designs. Sequence in LAMS for Medicine: www.gita.cl

9 Moodle and LAMS as one Integration Moodle-LAMS is well known. Advantages for us: –User management. –Advantages of LAMS and Moodle together. –Only used one platform for teaching. –Both platforms are Open Source. www.gita.cl Author view

11 Conclusions If the concept of Learning Design is not used by teachers, then lesson plans are a good methodology. Learning design are a complement for traditional lessons. Learning objects developed with collaboration of students improve learning design. A hard work and a long time is required for make a Learning Design. Users of Moodle appreciate to work with Moodle-LAMS integration.

12 Future Work To build learning objects and then Learning Designs for the main organs of the human body. For example: kidney. Participation of Students as learning designers. www.gita.cl
