 The present progressive tense is used to talk about actions taking place at a given time.  The action has to be taking place at the time it is used.
 It states that someone is doing something right now.  The action is in progress.  It's equivalent to English sentences with “ing” am/is/are + _______ing.

 The present progressive form is used to say what is happening at the exact moment.

 To form the present progressive, you use the appropriate form of estar + the present participle (-ando or –iendo, depending on the verb).

DoblarDobl- Doblando Poner Pon-Poniendo

El coche está doblando en la esquina. The car is turning in the corner.

Tú me estás poniendo nerviosa. You are making me nervous.

 To form the present participle of –ir stem-changing verbs, the e in the stem of the infinitive changes to i, and the o in the stem changes to u. decir diciendopedir pidiendorepetir repitiendo servir sirviendoseguir siquiendodormir durmiendo

El perro está durmiendo en el suelo. The dog is sleeping on the floor.

 To form the present participle of the following –er verbs, add –yendo instead of –iendo. creer creyendoleer leyendotraer trayendo

 When using a direct object pronoun with a present progressive, the pronoun can either come before estar or attached to the present participle. If you attach it to the participle, you must add an accent mark. Nosotros lo estamos esperando. Nosotros estamos esperándolo. OR …
