2 Uses of the Present Progressive
It is used to describe an action that is happening at the moment. I am walking to the clothing store. Estoy caminando a la tienda de ropa. It can be used to stress that an action is continuous. I am learning Spanish Estoy aprendiendo español.

4 How to form the Present Progressive
They are equivalent to -ing endings in English Formula estar + verb stem with –ando or –iendo ending (-ar) (-er) (-ir) Estoy hablando I am talking Estoy comiendo I am eating I am writing Estoy escribiendo

5 Special case Leer The ending is –yendo instead of –iendo
Oír, Creer (only works for –er & -ir verbs) Yo estoy leyendo. Tú estás leyendo. Usted/él/ella está leyendo. Nosotros estamos leyendo. Ustedes/ellos/ellas están leyendo.
