Adverbs Ending in -mente (Los adverbios que terminan en -mente) ¡Ay! Lamentablemente, Alicia no ha llegado todavía.

Adverbs ending in -mente We know that an adjective is a word that describes or tells more about a noun than we knew before. An adverb, of course, modifies a verb and tells how or when an action occurred. In Spanish, many adverbs are formed by simply adding the suffix -mente to an adjective. This suffix is the equivalent to the English ending -ly. El viaje a Salto Ángel que los estudiantes hicieron fue fácil. easy Ellos llegaron al sitio fácil mente. easily If an adjective requires an accent mark, the accent remains on the adverb.

Adverbs ending in -mente Pero el viaje desde Detroit no fue breve; fue muy largo. brief briefly El guía les habló breve mente sobre la famosa catarata cuando llegaron.
