Double Pronouns.  ¿Me comprará mi madre la cadena de oro? ¿Me la comprará?  ¿Regalarán mis padres el Ipad a mi hermano?  ¿Se lo comprarán?

DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS.  They answer the question what or who  I buy bread> What do I buy> bread.  Direct Object pronouns replace nouns already mentioned to avoid repetition.  Lee el libro: L ée lo.  Yo leo el libro: Lo leo.  Estoy leyendo el libro: lo estoy leyendo/estoy leyéndolo.

DIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS.  ME Me  TE You  LO/LA Him/her/it  NOS Us  OS You  LOS/LAS Them  Tienes el libro de historia? Lo tengo

Where do they go?  They go BEFORE CONJUGATED VERBS (lo veo –I see him) or NEGATIVE COMMANDS (no la cantes Don’t sing it (la canción).  ATTACHED to an INFINITIVE (cantar “Tengo que cantarla”), GERUND (cantando ‘Estoy cantándola”) or COMMAND (cántala):

INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS.  The indirect object is the person that receives the action of the verb:  El peluquero corta el pelo a mi madre.  The indirect Object pronoun stands for that noun:  El peluquero le corta el pelo.

INDIRECT OBJECT PRONOUNS.  ME-Me  TE-You  LE-Him, her and You (usted)  NOS-Us  OS-You  LES-Them, you (ustedes)  They follow the same placement rules as the direct object pronouns (before a _______verb and negative _______ and attached right after a ________, ________ and _________).

DOUBLE OBJECT PRONOUNS.  Some verbs can have a direct and indirect Object.  Some of these verbs are recomendar, pedir, dejar, traer, servir, pedir, llevar and dar.  Ejemplo: El mesero trae la cuenta a los clientes.

DOUBLE OBJECT PRONOUNS.  When the direct and the indirect pronouns go together the INDIRECT pronoun goes first.  Don’t forget your ID !!!!  El mesero trae la cuenta (la) a Pedro y a m í (nos).  El mesero NOS LA trae.

DOUBLE OBJECT PRONOUNS.  Change the indirect object pronoun le and les to SE when used with lo/los/la/las:  El mesero trae la cuenta (la) a Pedro (le).  El mesero LE LA trae:  Pedro SE LA trae.

DOUBLE OBJECT PRONOUNS.  AHORA PRUEBA:  El mesero tiene que traer el agua a los clientes.  Yo voy a pedir el pollo asado a mi mesera.  Mi madre recomienda el flan a mi abuela.  ¡No pidas la cuenta al mesero!  Deja la propina al mesero, por favor.

ACENTOS  Cuando añadimos (attach)los pronombres, necesitamos poner un acento!  Mandato y progresivo: (segunda sílaba empezando por el final) (cuenta 2) ¡Recomiéndamelo!, Está recomendándomelo. Mi profesora está pasando los tests a los estudiantes. Por favor, sirve agua a tus primos.

ACENTOS  Infinitivo: Primera sílaba por el final (cuenta 1).  Tengo que recomendárselo. No sé cocinar este plato para mi padre. ¿Tiene el médico que recetar esta medicina a mi hermanito?

Remember RID!  No muy común pero puede pasar!  Always follow this order:  Reflexive Pronoun!  Indirect Pronoun!  Direct Pronoun!  El enfermero está lavándose las manos para mí.  El enfermero está lavándosemelas.

Ejemplos:  Sabela se está peinando el pelo para su abuela.  ¡No compres periódicos para papá!  El cocinero se preparará para los clientes.  El cliente pagará una buena propina para los camareros.  ¡Reza unas oraciones para mí!  Tengo que pagar las flores a Laura.  Tienes que ponerte la ropa elegante para el presidente.
